Notkin’s sculptural teapots explore the complex environmental, political and economic impacts of contemporary human civilization. Often depicting anti-war perspectives, his work rests “upon the ecological and spiritual condition of our planet, and the quality of life of individual human beings. In addition to being first shown at Garth Clark Gallery and Ferrin Gallery at SOFA Fairs “20th Century Solutions Teapot: Nobody Knows Why” was in Notkin’s studio at the time of filming his segment for “Craft in America”
