Art in the Age of Influence: Cristina Córdova | Juan Muñoz

September 12- October 24, 2020.

Inspired by the poetics of inhabited space as distilled by the Spanish sculptor Juan Muñoz, Cristina Córdova explores the dynamics of the rendered body in the context of  multimedia settings within the gallery space. Juan Muñoz’s  work extracts ordinary elements and reevaluates their impact and resonance by reissuing them in isolation, distorted  or in carefully staged relationships.  Often with figurative components, they reinvent the experience of the narrative. Stirred by Muñoz’s practices, this new body of work looks to activate the mundane and in so doing, offer a template for the shared possibility of finding fascinating depths in the world around us.
